Why The Iron Throne Is Bigger & Has Way More Swords In House Of The Dragon

The Iron Throne in House of the Dragon is more intimidating with the number of swords adorning it, which is a big difference from GOT. The House of the Dragon Iron Throne is much bigger and has more swords than Game of Thrones.

As noted by King Viserys I Targaryen (Paddy Considine) in House of the Dragon Episode 1, the Iron Throne is the most dangerous seat in the realm – Not only because of how many people have cut themselves from fake swords, but also because of the responsibility and aim placed on the back of the person who sits on it. Visery cuts his own hand on the Iron Throne during the premiere of House of the Dragons, creating a false threat that clearly separates him from the Game of Thrones seat.

In Game of Thrones, the Iron Throne is described as a chair for the king of Westeros, made from the swords of those who surrendered to Aegon the Conqueror. While the throne room is still vast, Game of Thrones’ actual Iron Throne is nowhere near as terrifying as the House of the Dragon. which is “set 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen.” While the Iron Throne of Game of Thrones is large, there are many steps leading up to the chair made of swords.

The seat of the House of the Dragon is magnificent, with a large number of swords covering the seat and sticking out to cut the one who sits on it . not to mention that more swords line the steps leading up to the ruler’s chair.

House of the Dragon: Why That Nativity Scene Was So Important

The first episode of House of the Dragon includes a nativity scene that is significant for reasons beyond how it sets the story’s main conflict in motion.

The very first episode of House of the Dragon includes a tragic nativity scene that is significant for reasons beyond how it sets the story’s main conflict in motion. A prequel to HBO’s Game of Thrones, the new series is set about 200 years before the events of the previous show. House of the Dragons chronicles the family history of House Targaryen during their reign over the Seven Kingdoms,

Focusing specifically on the reign of Viserys I and the war of succession that erupted after his death. Given the importance of the House of the Dragon in determining succession and who should be the heir to the Iron Throne, births play a large role in this story. Sons are generally favored over daughters when it comes to succession, and the premiere of House of the Dragon highlights this by celebrating the expected birth of a king’s son. Unfortunately, however, the birth does not go as planned and Viserys is left without a male heir.

This sets up a course of events that will eventually lead to civil war, but the scene is also important for another reason.
