PS1 is based on Tamil classic novel
PS1 is based on Tamil classic novel Ponniyan Selvan. In an interview in 1994, Mani Ratnam described the novel as his dream of making a film. But he was worried about whether the film would be able to recover its cost. Then the work of making the PS1 movie was stopped. In the year 2012, Mani Ratnam once again started working on this film. It was announced with Thalapathy Vijay and Mahesh Babu in the lead roles and the shooting of the film was about to begin, but due to the costly process, PS1 had to be put on hold once again.
But Mani Ratnam finally fulfilled his dream, in 2019 he once again announced to make the film on PS1.
Earlier, Vikram, Vijay Sethupathi, Jayam Ravi, Anushka Shetty, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Amoula Paul were supposed to play the lead roles in this film, but due to different reasons, Vijay Sethupathi, Anushka Shetty and Amoula Paul parted ways and Changed all three . Karthi, Trisha Krishnan and Shobhita Dhulipala have been roped in.
Like Mani Ratnam’s previous films, PS1’s music will also be composed by A.R Rehman. After Robot 2.O and RRR, it has also been included in the list of India’s most expensive movie. Whose total budget is 500 crores. Last in September 2021 the shooting of this film has been completed. And PS1 will be released on 2 September 2022 which will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi languages.
