Cristiano Ronaldo could fit into the Manchester United system - Eric ten Hag
Eric ten Hag said Cristiano Ronaldo's future at Manchester United is still under him, despite the striker dropping him for a win over Liverpool at Old Trafford on Monday.
Ronaldo was left on the seat as United staggered Jurgen Klopp's side with a 2-1 win thanks to objectives from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford.
Sancho and Rashford were part of a free-flowing three with Anthony Elanga, but Ten Haag believes Ronaldo could be included in their system.
"I think he can," said the United manager, who brought in Ronaldo as a substitute in the 86th minute.
"Throughout his career he worked under many managers, many styles and systems. He always performed, so why can't he?
"Their age isn't an issue. If you're good enough and you're old and you still perform, you're good enough too."
Ronaldo was one of four changes made by Ten Haig after an embarrassing 4–0 loss at Brentford, with captains Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Fred also joining the bench
